Commenting on the anger expressed by conservative peer Lord Tebbit, Secretary of Mid Ulster and West Tyrone Young Unionists, Ryan Moses said “I concur completely with the comments of the Right Honourable, The Lord Tebbit with regard to ex IRA Chief now joint First Minister of Northern Ireland, Martin McGuiness being invited to speak at the Labour Party Conference. Although I am appalled at the very thought of it, I am not surprised that the Labour Party would stoop so low.”
“This invitation has been quickly followed Labours Peter Hain saying that the Union of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is safer with the Labour Party than it would be with the Conservatives. Now I am no political mastermind, but is Hain saying that the Union is safer with a Party who pal around with the likes of Martin McGuiness than it would be with the Conservative Party; who are now linked to the Ulster Unionist Party and whose’ MEP was the first Unionist Elected to the European Parliament in the June election.”
“Not only was Gordon Brown been the man in charge of the Treasury in the 10years leading to the worst recession in living memory, but he is now setting himself to be the architect who will dismember the United Kingdom bit by bit. I fell very strongly that Unionists throughout the United Kingdom, and especially in Northern Ireland, will suffer hugely if Labour win the next election.”
